Say hello to your new producer

No, I am not the new producer for the new Avatar film. And no, I am not a new producer at CBC radio. Although, it never hurts to dream big.

Joseph Thornley, CEO and creator of Thornley Fallis & 76Design, alongside Gini Dietrich and Martin Waxman, get together weekly to record their conversation on everything public relations and social media.

Recently the great Yasmine Kashefi, the previous producer has moved on to other exciting endeavors and has graciously passed the torch to me.

This week is my first week as the new Inside PR podcast. The experience so far has been remarkable. The Inside PR team has been so encouraging and helpful.

Just like there are hundreds of colours in the rainbow, there are hundreds of ways to communicate with an audience. Producing a podcast has allowed me to broaden my social media horizon and opened my eyes to another social media tool not utilized enough by public relation professionals.

The definition of a podcast as defined by Dictionary.com is:

An audio file similar to a radio broadcast, which can be downloaded and listened to on a computer, mp3 player, mobile phone, etc.

The advantage to a podcast is you can relate a lot of information while making it easy to access by your audience. A blog relates a lot of information, but some do not have time to sit down and read long articles. A podcast can relay the same amount of information in a 20 minute podcast one can listen to on the way to work.

I look forward to my new adventure as Inside PR producer.

You can follow the Inside PR podcast on iTunes or on the Inside PR blog.
